MINESHOP
Back in the mid 70's when I first started to keep the goats we lived in a tied cottage on a tenanted farm on the Getty Estate on the edge of Guildford. I decided that I needed a prefix that would move with us rather than one that reflected where we were at that time.
We had stayed several times with friends in a largish house in Cornwall where all the rooms were named after a local feature. We always slept in Mineshop which was named after a pretty little valley just up the road.
So we registered Mineshop with the British Goat Society and the first goat with that prefix was registered in 1977. The Oxford Sandy and Black Pigs joined in 2006 and the Beef Shorthorns arrived in 2007.
